Nationals of The Gambia who wish or have to return from an ERRIN partner country* may be eligible to benefit from the ERRIN programme. Under the programme, Caritas International Belgium (CIB) is the contracted service provider for The Gambia. CIB has been implementing the Belgian government voluntary return programme as service provider worldwide since 2007.

CIB works with Caritas Gambia as local service delivery partner to assist returnees, both voluntary and non-voluntary, with the first steps of their reintegration in The Gambia. The Catholic Development Office (CaDO) – or Caritas Gambia – was established in 2001. With its main office in Serrekunda, CaDO implements projects across the country through seven sub-offices and 22 parishes. It primary activities revolve around health, HIV / AIDS care and support, malaria prevention, water and sanitation, emergency relief, and peace building. CaDO seeks to maximise community capacity building by encouraging local initiatives, in particular those focused on vulnerable groups, including women, youth and children.

Download the leaflet to find out more details about the support available, procedure to follow and who to contact.

*Currently Belgium, Denmark, Germany and UK use the ERRIN contracts in the Gambia (this list may be subject to change).
