About ERRIN
The European Return and Reintegration Network is an initiative of 16 European states that helps to ensure that people on the move can return home in a dignified and humane manner. ERRIN is working with local organisations on the ground in 40 countries, offering comprehensive assistance for returning migrants. Following the initial aid provided right upon arrival, the reintegration support may involve support for housing, medical treatment, vocational training and educational needs, or setting up a business.
About Caritas
In Ethiopia, we work with Caritas. The Ethiopian Catholic Church Social and Development Commission – or Caritas Ethiopia – was founded in 1965 and registered with the Ethiopian government in 2000. Caritas Ethiopia operates at the community and national level. Its primary activities revolve around provision of quality education, humanitarian assistance, emergency aid and food security, water and sanitation, health and HIV/AIDS education, migration and gender equality issues.
Caritas International Belgium (CIB) is a non-governmental organisation and works in close cooperation with Caritas Ethiopia to provide assistance to returnees from the different ERRIN partner countries. CIB has been implementing the national government programme as service provider worldwide in the field of voluntary return since 2007.
