Every year, Afghanistan welcomes more returnees coming back from Europe than any other country of origin. Yet the people who make a decision to return are still struggling with a number of obstacles that might hinder their reintegration process.

The European Return and Reintegration Network and the Swedish Migration Agency identified the main challenges faced by returning Afghans. To address them, we established a new pilot approach to reintegration and together with our local partner, the Afghanistan Center for Excellence, offered an extended training programme for returnees.

Watch our partners and beneficiaries speak about their experience and the added value of our approach.

Zubair: “I decided to start my own construction company”

Ghafar: “I am hoping my company will be a success”

Shir Jan: “The training was effective and put me at ease”
